Garden skink

This small skink was accidentally introduced in the mid 1990's, perhaps as a stow away on cargo from mainland Australia, where it is native. This is the skink that is seen when out on the walking tracks during the day at Lord Howe Island; our native skink is nocturnal.

Size: 7cm
