GENERAL NOTE ON BIRDS (Aves)
Biodiversity > Birds

A total of 201 different bird species have been recorded at Lord Howe island. 32 of these currently breed at the island, 9 species are extinct, and the others are regular or rare visitors, or vagrants perhaps with only one record. This part of the Biodiversity section of our website categorises birds into landbirds breeding, seabirds breeding, regular visitors, and rare visitors and vagrants. In time, more species and information will be added to these pages.
