BLACK-SHOULDERED KITE (Elanus axillaris)
Biodiversity > Birds > Rare visitors and vagrants

Vagrant. One positive record. Holmes & Hutton (in Hutton 1991) report a sighting for the period 1975 to 1990. However, after questioning many known residents and visitors to the Island and a search of the literature, we cannot verify this record (also G. Holmes pers. comm.). One seen by Stephen Ga** at the west end of Old Settlement Beach on 22 October 2003 (LHI Museum card).
