SALVIN'S PRION (Pachyptila salvini)

In July 2011 fishermen at Lord Howe Island reported quite a number of prions feeding off the island. Between July 20 and 24 2011 seven dead prions washed onto the beaches in storms at Lord Howe Island. Two beach washed specimens were identified as Salvins prion by Ian Hutton July 23 2011.
