ROYAL SPOONBILL (Platalea regia)

Vagrant. Four records. One collected by ‘Mr. Nicholls’ in September 1891 (North 1892; Hindwood 1940; AM O.4364). One seen by Graeme Pizzey in August 1957 (McKean & Hindwood 1965). One found dead by Ray Shick on 6 June 1975 had been present on the Group for some months (Rogers 1976; AM O.45253). One seen by John Blyth at Moseley Park Swamp in March 1992 (J. Blyth pers. comm.).
