On Tuesday 3rd October the Museum hosted an evening of coral reef lectures by visiting scientists from James Cook University Townsville.
Dr Kate Quigley presented her research on Coral symbiont adaptation at Lord Howe Island.
Dr. Alexandre Siqueira discussed the Evolution of Fish-Coral interactions.
And Dr. Victor Huertas talked about “The unusual lips of a coral-eating Fish”.
A packed audience was enthralled by these three diverse topics presented on cutting edge marine research.
There was plenty of lively discussion in question time, indicating the level of interest by the visiting and local community in current research.
Many thanks to our three presenters who shared their passion with the audience.
