A number of books and photograph albums were donated over winter.
One interesting album, was donated by 81-year-old Jenny Smith from Bombaderry, whose great aunt visited Lord Howe Island in 1927. The album contains many photographs of interest, from her aunt’s time on the island.
Along with the album was a clipping from The Sun newspaper, dated February 1927, promoting Lord Howe Island as NSW’s “Pacific Dependency”, and showing the attractions of the wildlife.
Also, from the same newspaper, was an interesting advertisement by Fossey’s, showing the prices of boys suits and other men’s wear.
