History Gallery renovations – update

In January, designer Michael Bugelli made another visit to progress the renovations to our History Gallery display.

In January 2023, exhibit designer Michael Bugelli from Detached Organisation in Hobart, made another visit to the Museum, to further progress the installation of elements in our History Gallery display.

This time Michael worked with Curator Ian Hutton on the story board panels, combining stories, photographs, maps and newspaper clippings to create an interesting layout to present the various themes of the gallery.

Where possible we are using quotes from residents, visitors, scientists and officials or newspaper to tell the stories first hand in the words of the day.

Michael also installed many of the graphics that go on the walls as well as objects to give more snippets of factual interesting information on the objects.

The gallery is taking shape as all the pieces come together.
