Museum closed for renovations

While visitor numbers are low, and the café is closed, we are undertaking some renovations.

The Geological Survey of NSW has published new data, including an updated map of Lord Howe Island.

The museum has a large collection of old signs, or photographs, donated by former residents and businesses.

In August, the Museum is partnering with Friends of Lord Howe Island and the Australian Museum on a beetle survey program.

As part of the new Historical Gallery displays, the Museum is constructing a partial replica of a palm thatch cottage.
